It was the debut night for the new punk club "Club Outcast" in Borås last night - and what a night it was. We started the night, me and 'arr lad Kristoffer by having a few beers and listening to dad-rock at my place before venturing out to the club, not before fixing us up the guestlist mind you.
If I had to came up with a bad point about the night it would have been the 100:- entrance fee plus the extra 20:- to hang up your jacket. But since we didn't pay, that's all good.
It was a bit of a whos who of the Borås punk scene/bands with many people there crawling out of the woodwork for the show.
The Strung Ups kicked off with their punk rock ravishings. Not a band I have heard before and despite having a very docile stage pressence they were not at all bad, enjoyed them very much and will look out for them in the future.
The band of the night were of course Gatans Lag - fist raising street punk/oi with a whole bunch od different band members doing different things, bit of sax and fem-vox thrown in and it was a superb show, the audience barrier being a complete waste of time.
Great club and great opening night, I think I walked round with a big grin just because this was happening in Borås. I'd like to see it again soon but as I know the owners of Viva, I don't think he will be super happy over the amount of "fights" and broken glass/broken furniture from that night.
You see, some people think that to be punk you have to break things and disrespect everything. How smart is it to abuse the place that is providing you with your music and scene eh? Anyway, great fun night, well done Club Outcast - come back soon!
